Monday Moodboard: Relaxed Coastal Living

A curated start to the week

Another Monday, and I’m taking a minute to reflect on the week behind me before jumping into the next. It was one of those weeks that felt full in all the right ways — quiet wins at home, simple spring outfits, time with family, and a few really special moments reconnecting and celebrating with friends. I hope find a little inspiration in this week's moodboard as you head into the days ahead.

This Week’s Moodboard

Home & Fashion

1. Steaks on the Grill

We can’t get enough of the patio lately — the weather right now is just too good not to take advantage of. We grilled steaks on Wednesday and ended up having one of those really easy, relaxed nights at home together. I even poured a midweek glass of white wine using my new glasses (they’re affordable and from Amazon — I’ll link them HERE).

2. Cotton & Linen on Repeat

Lately I’ve been living in easy, breathable fabrics — especially this time of year in SWFL. I keep reaching for the same types of outfits that feel put together without trying too hard. I picked up a new pair of green pants from Abercrombie (wearing a size small) and they’ve already been on repeat.

If you live in a warmer climate, I can’t recommend building out this part of your closet enough. When I’m not in activewear, it’s almost always a pair of linen pants with an oversized linen top. I’ve linked a few of my go-to pieces and similar staples [HERE and HERE].

Eating & Drinking

3. Homemade Strawberry Jam

Whenever I have extra berries at Grazing Haus, I’ll turn them into a simple homemade jam — I hate letting good ingredients go to waste. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and this weekend I had a surplus of strawberries, so I got to jamming.

It’s one of those recipes that feels a little nostalgic and a lot easier than you’d think. I keep it in the fridge and use it throughout the week — just note, this version isn’t shelf-stable, so it’s best enjoyed within a week or two.

Directions:

  • Wash and slice the berries and add them to a pot
  • Add the juice of 1 lemon and ½ cup sugar, then let it sit for about 30 minutes
  • Add enough water to cover the berries (about 2 cups) and simmer on low
  • Let it cook down slowly until the berries break apart, stirring occasionally (about an hour)
  • Use a masher or immersion blender to reach your desired texture
  • Continue simmering until it thickens to your liking
  • Remove from heat and let cool completely before storing
  • Transfer to a jar and keep in the fridge for up to a week or so

4. Lunch at Gramma Dots

We had family in town this weekend and took them out to one of our favorite on-the-water spots, Gramma Dot’s on Sanibel. It’s tucked away at the marina and feels like such a hidden gem — especially if you’re coming in by boat (about 45 minutes for us), but just as easy to get to by car.

We got there right when they opened and were seated immediately, which I definitely recommend. I always order the same thing — the tuna melt. It’s one of their originals, and I’m a sucker for a good tuna salad. We also shared calamari, fish dip, and conch fritters, which made it feel like a full Florida lunch in the best way.

If you’ve never been, it’s absolutely worth adding to your list — just try to go early or just after the lunch rush to avoid a wait.

Spotted Around Town

5. Fuego Pilates

As a die-hard Iron DNA gym girl, I didn’t expect to love Pilates as much as I do, but Fuego has quickly become one of my favorite additions to my routine. It’s been really fun stepping into something new, feeling challenged in a different way, and honestly just enjoying a workout without tapping into my usual competitive mindset.

It’s 45 minutes where I’m fully focused — nothing else on my mind except staying on the reformer and moving through each set. It’s been such a good balance to my usual training.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Pilates, I can’t recommend Fuego enough. They’re expanding quickly and have a great intro offer for new clients. And if you go, tell Amy I sent you 🤍

6. Birthday Celebrations Downtown Fort Myers

We celebrated a friend’s birthday this Saturday in downtown Fort Myers, and it felt so good to be out, reconnecting, and seeing some of the newer spots the area has to offer.

Pre Dinner Cocktail: Espresso Martinis at the Luminary Rooftop

We started the night with espresso martinis at The Luminary rooftop. We loved the idea of it, but between the wind and a bit of a chill in the air, we ended up inside. The space is beautiful, but it was pretty loud — almost hard to hold a conversation — so we finished our drinks and headed to dinner.

Dinner: Izzy's Fish & Oyster

Dinner was at Izzy’s Fish & Oyster, which I hadn’t been to in a while. I remember when it first opened in Fort Myers (it honestly feels like forever ago), so it was fun to be back.

What we ordered:

Apps: Tuna Bites + Octopus (both were very good just on the smaller side)

Dinner: Crispy Skin Snapper (I wanted to love, but it fell a little flat and could have used a bit more salt)

That said, the service was great, and we split a bottle of Albariño that was really good. It ended up being one of those nights where the conversation and company made it more than anything else.

After dinner, we stopped into Escondido Lounge — a fun little speakeasy hidden inside Taco Works. J and I have been to the Cape Coral location before, so we had to check out the original Fort Myers spot. It’s smaller, but just as fun, and definitely worth it for a memorable cocktail to end the night. It was the perfect way to end the week.

Shop the Week

A few things from this week I’ve been wearing, using, and loving lately — all in one place if you want to browse.

Still on the hunt for the perfect denim shorts, so if you have a pair you love, send them my way.
