Monday Moodboard Week 18| Summer Prep, Cozy Meals & Everyday Life in Southwest Florida

What I’m Loving This Week

This week honestly felt like a blur.

I completely forgot it was Memorial Day Weekend because I’ve been so focused on preparing for our upcoming Keys trip — shopping, packing, meal prepping, and trying to get life organized before we leave.

A slower week overall, but one filled with little signs that summer is officially here.

THIS WEEK’S MOODBOARD

AROUND TOWN

Costco Runs & Summer Prep

This week felt less like going out and more like preparing. A lot of Costco runs, errands, and trying not to overspend before travel season officially begins. Honestly, some of my favorite weeks are the quieter ones spent getting ready for what’s ahead.

Sharing my favorite hauls from this week:

  • Spicy Sauvy B from Total Wine (yes it's SPICY)
  • Casamigos premade margaritas at Costco
  • Trader Joes limited edition brazil nut scent is back
  • Vacation sunscreen at Costco and on sale
  • Meredith Dairy Goat Sheep Cheese (Summer's Cheese)

Trader Joe’s Summer Find

I restocked the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Oil this week, I wait for the scent to come out every Summer!

If you love the warm, beachy scent of Sol de Janeiro, this is such a good affordable alternative for summer.

The scent is salty caramel and pistachio and somehow smells like vacation in the best way. Definitely one of those little seasonal finds that instantly gets me excited for summer trips.

WHAT I’M EATING & DRINKING

Summer Cravings

Lately I’ve been craving simple, fresh foods — caprese salads, birria tacos, good bread, and crisp white wine.

I’ve also officially entered my Chenin Blanc era for the summer. I picked up this delicious and beautiful bottle from Trader Joes for only $12! I'll be buying a few more while supplies last.

Costco in Fort Myers had some surprisingly good cheese finds this week: Sweet Grass Green Hill Brie, Beechers Flagship Cheddar, Meredith Dairy Sheep Goat Cheese, and Point Reyes Blue Cheese. I also received a few jam and mustard samples from New Canaan Farms that I’m excited to start incorporating into summer hosting boards.

IN THE KITCHEN

Boat Prep

This weekend has basically turned into trip-prep mode in the kitchen.

I’m making breakfast burritos ahead for the drive, prepping batches of tuna salad for easy boat lunches, and somehow still convincing myself I have time to bake chocolate chip cookies before we leave.

The dining table has slowly transformed into a combination of:

  • packing station
  • grocery drop zone
  • meal prep counter

…and honestly that feels very on-brand for this season of life.

WHAT I’M WEARING

The Summer Uniform

At this point, my daily outfit formula has become:

  • a simple tank top
  • linen pants or shorts
  • a swimsuit somewhere underneath

Easy, comfortable, and realistic for Southwest Florida summers.

AT HOME

Afternoon Storms & Summer Skies

One of my favorite moments this week was watching an afternoon summer storm roll through and seeing a rainbow stretch across our backyard afterward.

It felt like one of those small reminders that summer is officially settling in.

We’ve also fully entered our Handmaid’s Tale era at home, which has honestly become our nightly routine lately. I know I've been living under a rock and the show is not for everyone, but we're almost to the finish line! I can't stop now.

Plant Rehab

The bird of paradise out front is officially making a comeback.

A little fertilizer, espresso grounds, water, and patience — and she’s already pushing out new leaves again. Yes i am a plant mommy, I actually have 12 indoor plants, and 20 outdoor plants I keep alive LOL.

WORK THIS WEEK

Bloom Bar Weekend

This week I hosted my first bloom cart pop-up at Grazing Haus. The setup turned out so cute, but timing-wise it probably wasn’t the ideal weekend since so many people were out of town for Memorial Day.

Still, I’m really glad I tried it. I’m learning that not every idea has to be perfect the first time to still be worth exploring.

HOSTING MOMENTS

A Little Before-Dinner Snack

One thing Jeremy always appreciates is when I have something small ready for him before dinner.

This week it was a simple caprese-style snack moment, and honestly those little gestures always feel like the heart of hosting to me.

Simple, thoughtful, and low effort in the best way.

THIS WEEK’S FEELING

This week felt like the calm before summer really begins. Packing lists, afternoon rainstorms, groceries everywhere, and getting excited for adventures ahead.

I can feel summer arriving, and honestly I’m so excited for everything waiting for us.

See you next Monday.
